Case Studies

This patient presented with a gap between her upper front teeth, as well as a large horizontal gap between her upper and lower front teeth. She also had a dental asymmetry, with her lower midline off to her right. Her upper lateral incisors were also abnormally small, and we decided to open space around them so she could have veneers at the end of treatment. Treatment took 16 months, and we were able to close all of the spaces, correct the asymmetry and widen her smile.

This patient presented with upper front teeth that were protruding outwards, causing a gap between them and the lower front teeth. The dental arches were also narrow, leaving empty space on either side of his teeth when he smiled. The gums in the upper and lower anterior area were also thin, so care had to be taken to avoid causing any increase in recession. Treatment took 12 months, and resulted in major changes in teeth angulation, also allowing him to close his teeth together properly in the front.

This patient presented with severe upper and lower crowding, and narrow dental arches. He had a lower canine and premolar in crossbite, and his upper right canine was impacted, and not in the dental arch. Due to the severe crowding, the decision was made to remove the impacted canine, as well as 3 premolars to keep symmetry between the dental arches. The treatment took 36 months and resulted in dramatic change in terms of dental alignment, overbite and overjet. Reshaping of the worn edges of the anterior teeth was also done as a finishing detail.
This patient presented in the mixed dentition, with a posterior crossbite of the upper arch on both sides, as well as two upper lateral incisors in crossbite. Invisalign treatment was started in order to expand the upper arch, to correct the crossbites and make room for all of the permanent teeth. Once all of the permanent teeth were in, a second phase of Invisalign aligners was used to correct minor rotations and crowding.
This patient presented with overlapped and crowded upper and lower front teeth, and narrow dental arches. She also had generalized gingival recession, so care would be needed in order to avoid further lowering the gingival levels during treatment. Invisalign treatment was done to widen her smile, as well as correct the deep bite, crowding and rotations.
This patient presented with a very deep bite, due to over-extruded lower incisors, as well as an upper lateral incisor in crossbite. After 23 months of treatment, we were able to widen the upper and lower dental arches to correct the crowding, as well as to correct the deep bite by intruding the lower incisors, so her upper incisor display would be preserved.
This patient presented with a gap between his upper front teeth that he wanted closed. Because his upper teeth were in contact with the lowers, interproximal reduction of the lower anteriors was required in order to create space to retract them, allowing the upper space to close without creating an interference with the lower arch.
This patient presented in the mixed dentition with a narrow maxilla, and a lack of space for the upper lateral incisors to erupt. We started Invisalign treatment to open space for the upper incisors, and to expand the upper dental arch. We were also able to correct the anterior openbite and bring the upper and lower front teeth into contact.
This patient presented with narrow upper and lower dental arches, and protrusive central incisors. Treatment took 19 months, and we were able to significantly widen his smile, and reduce the angulation and protrusion of his upper front teeth.
This patient presented in the mixed dentition with upper front teeth in crossbite. This is a situation that needs to be resolved as soon as possible, so we started treatment with Invisalign clear aligners, to move his upper front teeth forwards, as well as widen the upper and lower dental arches. A second phase of treatment was done once all of the permanent teeth were in, to correct any residual crowding.
This patient presented with severely narrow upper and lower dental arches, with a crossbite on both sides. The overlap of his front teeth was leading to a lot of wear and damage, but proper restorations could not be done without orthodontic alignment. We were able to widen his upper and lower dental arches, and establish proper overbite and overjet, so that his front teeth could be restored. The result is a healthy and beautiful smile!
