Go Orthodontistes awarded Three Prizes in 11th edition of the Grand Prix du Design
On February 13, the Grand Prix Du Design held its 11th edition and handed out 70 prizes, which recognized the work done by Quebec-based designers and architects. Go Orthodontistes is extremely proud to have been named this year amongst the talented group of laureates. The orthodontic clinic received three awards for its innovative look and atmosphere. Their first prize recognized the harmonious integration of furniture in their commercial space. The minimalist style is complimented by carefully selected pieces of furniture that have functional and aesthetic purposes. The space was conceptualized with a careful attention to detail, as the design mixes practicality and a distinct focus on the maximization of the space, with an evident importance placed on having a clean and modern appearance. The clinic also received a prize for their use of wood in their office’s design. The pale colors of the Russian Birch create a peaceful environment that also meshes beautifully with the natural light in the waiting room. The style of the Go Orthodontistes office seamlessly combines more contemporary elements with warmer, more welcoming aspects to ensure that their space is ideal for customers and staff alike.
Go Orthodontistes also collected the overall prize in their category of Health clinic. Natasha Thorpe, Industrial Designer and Dr. Go’s daughter, conceptualized the design, which only goes to enforce the familial aspects of the business. Not only does Dr. Go has the pleasure of working alongside her son, Dr. Thorpe, her daughter is also an integral part of her company’s success. The values that are at the center of this family business come to life in its open space design which is intended to soothe its clientele. The neutral colors and rounded walls feel warm and inviting, yet do not take away from the professionalism of the environment. The design is certainly successful in reflecting the core values of Go Orthodontistes. This is indicative of Natasha’s passion, as she describes it, for “translating collective meaning and symbolism into physical form.” Her knowledge is manifested in her ability to create a visual and sensory experience through her work.
The staff at Go Orthodontistes is extremely proud of their team and of their origins. These prizes show their collective successes as a family, as well as their ability to share this familial energy with their clients through their services and through their office’s design.
